The photo any video quality are fine when the lense is clean, some of the later shots have got water drops on the lense and you can see the light shining through them. The mic is very sensative though and picks up wind very easily. But for a compact camcorder that can be used out in the rain, snow, under water I can put up with its audio. It was worth the price just to be able to capture a video of my dad when he fell in the sea and was struggling to get back in the kayak, though I promised him I wouldnt upload that clip :)

Ive not read the link because im mobile and paying a fortune for data at the moment but if its the same article that i read a few days ago the i would be one of those that tells people not to bother leaving voicemail as I never check it. Even though I get it for free its just too much trouble to phone in to collect it. I dont use spinvox either because even when I used to use voicemail the little I got wouldnt be worth me paying a monthly subscription. As i mentioned to @whatleydude a few months back, if spinvox start a pay per message service i'd jump at the chance to use it.

Yes i took a Sanyo Xacti (forget the model number but its the waterproof one). Took a few photos and vids that will be up on flickr in a few hours once I go into town. Not feeling too bad today, ive slept off most of the aches and pains.

Good morning. Been up since 4:45, im not even in a different time zone and my body clock is screwed up. Been productive though, organising photos and vids in flickr uploader ready for when I pop into town later and can get wifi access. Mobile data on payg is pathetic here, cant get email, cant use shozu or share online, can only use the web browser but even then it wont go to secure sites.... God bless open wifi round town :)

I only use iplayer as a last resort, normally ill watch stuff on a freeview pvr so if i get interupted i can just pause or rewind it. Staying in a cottage on the isle of man this week with parents, were over here visiting my brother, so last night i had to shout through to the kitchen and ask them to put bbc1 on so that i could dash through from the front room to make a drink without missing too much :)

I tried to resist saying anything after the episode last night as you dont seem to watch it "live". So glad that dave didnt change, that was my greatest worry.

I think its great, quality isnt as good as a regular photo printer but i didnt expect it would be. Theres a short writeup on my blog. It changing the way i take photos too, i now see things and think oh that would look cool as a little photo or sticker where before i might have snapped it from a different angle, or not at all.

this 12 month failure rate that ive experienced on two laptops in the past is one reason i now usually spend about 500 on one. I can use it for a month and as long as it doesnt become a dog like the tosh i had i can sell it for about 200 and buy another one for 500 thats a higher spec than the one i had and its only cost 300. Only 3 yrs thats a total spend of 1100 for 3 laptops. If id spent that on one in the first place it would be outdated and knackered in 3yrs.

id probably not buy acer again if I had a bad experience with them but for me they have been great. Some people swear by dell but after all the problems weve had with them at work I wouldnt have one if it was given to me. Never had a HP but I have heard good things about them.

I had a similar problem about 4 yrs ago with a toshiba, paid 1100 for it and it lasted just under a year before I noticed it running very slow even after a fresh install and it got hot quite quickly. i put the slowness down to it having a mobile celeron processor which became crap after extended heavy use. But the 2 amd acers have been fine.

well the last 2 laptops ive bought have been an acer and ive had no problems. Ive not owned a desktop for about 8yrs, laptops have been my main computer. But to tell you the truth it doesnt get used half as much as it used to, i spend more time on the eeepc, its amazing how much power you dont really need for most tasks. The only things my laptop gets used for is video and photo editing and downloading torrents, for most other things i use the e.

If it was me id spend 400-500, a 1000 isnt worth twice as much imo. Id rather buy a cheaper one and upgrade to a better one every 12-18 months.

I wasnt going to bother as Ive already seen it done on a few videos and I beleive them but I might as well. Yes they pass the tear test, but do crease slightly on the edge that I tried to rip though thats only to be expected. Not got any water handy so done a lick test instead lol, licked it repeatedly for 30 seconds and absolutly no change, no colour runs or fading it looks exactly like it did before i became over affectionate with it lol.

As a movie yes the first Matrix is better than Fifth Element. But if i was to be stuck on a desert island I would get bored of watching Matrix over and over again but I never tire of Fifth Element, thats what I based my choices on.
